What to expect and the healing process

  • Be offers a free 15 minute personal consultation for all cosmetic tattoo treatments as well as brow lamination treatments. Please book your complimentary consultation under our Bookings section before you book your tattoo or lamination appointment.

Personal consultations are best for those customers that are unsure of what is the right treatment for them. They also help Be to understand exactly what your expectations are and to discuss any concerns. She’ll assess your natural brow shape relative to your facial features and discuss your skin type. In this session, you will need to communicate to Be what your desired look may be, or any particular preferences you may have.

Please show Be any reference photos to help her get a better understanding of what you’d like. If you’re unsure, you can check out Pixels and Strokes on Instagram for some inspiration and examples of different cosmetic tattooing techniques @pixelsandstrokesperth

  • Your eyebrow tattoo appointment is a two stage treatment that includes the initial tattoo and then a complimentary follow-up appointment that is scheduled between 4-6 weeks after your tattoo.

Before Be starts, any makeup will be removed and your brow area will be thoroughly cleaned and numbed with a topical anesthetic to minimise discomfort.

Working together, you’ll select the pigment colour that matches your desired look and one that complements your skin tone and hair colour. Be can custom mix a colour if one of the pure pigments isn’t suitable.

Using an artist pencil, Be will map out the shape of your tattoos carefully considering all sections of your eyebrows - the bulb, arch and tail. Be works intricately and thoughtfully considering your style and the shape that best suits your face. She’ll check that you’re happy with the shape before she goes ahead with the tattoo.

Using a powdering (Ombre) or microblading (Feather Touch) technique, Be creates tiny pixelated dots or hair-like strokes of pigment along your brow line, gradually building up the colour from darker to lighter to create a soft gradient effect. Both techniques create different results depending on what best suits you, but both can be as soft and natural as you like or more defined and polished if you prefer.

After your appointment, your brows will need time to heal. Be will provide you with some instructions and aftercare cream. Aftercare instructions are also available here.

Be offers a complimentary follow-up appointment between 4-6 weeks after your tattoo. This is to ensure the pigment has settled evenly and if there’s any areas that have faded too quickly, Be will add these final finishing touches for you.

  • Your brows will go through a few stages.

    Day 1.

On the first day, the colour is fresh and the skin is slightly irritated. Your brows will feel tender and look more on the warmer side of the colour we have chosen.

    Day 2.

Your brows will feel tight and may seem about 50% darker as they are still healing.

    Day 3,4 & 5.

Your brows will start scabbing or flaking. Don’t worry, these are normal signs of healing. Let these flakes just fall away naturally; avoid picking, peeling or scratching them.

    Day 6.

You can now get them wet. Your brows will continue to soften and slowly reveal their true colour over the next few weeks.

  • You will be expected to bring some numbing cream which is available over the counter at any pharmacy. Please read our Pre-care instructions before your lip tattoo appointment.

Please arrive 25 minutes before your scheduled appointment time as your lip area needs to be numbed for at least 20 minutes before the appointment commences.

Looking at your photos and any ideas of colours that you may have, Be will help you decide on your ideal lip shade. Your colour will be custom blended by Be so that you can see that it fits your daily personal style and comfort and that flatters your skin tone. Your lip colour must enhance your appearance from the morning when you first wake up, to that big night out where your lips look full and flushed!

After you have selected and agreed on the colour, Be will cleanse the lip area then map out a shape for your lips. Before she starts, she’ll show you the outline, and if you’re happy, she’ll proceed with the tattoo.

The actual tattooing takes up to an hour. Once the tattoo is completed Be will go through after care with you.

  • Your lips will feel swollen after your appointment. This is normal and the swelling will subside in 24 hours. Then your lips will behave like chapped lips, flaking and peeling from the inner lip out to the lip line. Please don’t pick your peeling lips otherwise you’ll lose the lip line.

The colour will look a little warmer compared to the colour we chose because the skin is slightly irritated but once the swelling and the flaking subsides, the skin on your lips will fully rejuvenate and your colour will blossom.

  • Please bring photos and numbing cream. There are more details about this in our Pre-care instructions for your eyeliner tattoo appointment.

Please arrive 25 minutes before your scheduled appointment time as your eye area needs to be numbed for at least 20 minutes before the appointment commences.

Once we have determined the style you’d like, Be will thoroughly clean your eye area before drawing a draft pencil line of the eyeliner tattoo you desire.

Before she starts, she’ll show you the proposed eyeliner, and if you’re happy, she’ll proceed with the tattoo.

The tattoo will take at least 1.5 hours and Be will apply constant topical numbing throughout that time so that you feel completely comfortable.

After the tattoo is complete, Be will go through after care and book you in for your touch up appointment.

  • Eyeliner tattoo aftercare is all the same and is not dependent on what style you have.

Day 1: Your eyeliner will be dark and crisp. The skin / eyelids might feel swollen and puffy on Day 1 and possibly Day 2. This is normal and the swelling should subside in 48 hours.

Your colour will darken temporarily as the pigment oxidizes and thin scabs will form. It will then start to flake away. Please do not touch, pick or scratch at this.

Day 6: Your eyes can get wet now. They will be fully healed and will seem softer in colour. Eyeliner will need a follow up appointment 4-6 weeks later to implant the colour to completion.

  • A personal consultation with Be is necessary for brow lamination as it involves a tedious method of perfectly placing every hair in place so it's important to determine exact colouring and mapping before she starts.

Once your brows are mapped and you are happy with the shape, a lifting and setting solution is applied to free up the hairs. A neutralising cream is then applied to maintain the desired shape, and the final treatment is a keratin mask for your brows leaving the hair feeling hydrated, nourished and glossy.

After we have created perfectly groomed brows, you are treated to brow styling, tinting and shaping with warm wax. To maintain your carefully curated shape, Be recommends a follow-up treatment every 6-8 weeks.
